About the Owner

Hello!

My name is Erica, and I own and operate Cookies and Bliss. Baking has been a passion of mine since I was a teenager. With more experience, and a honing of my skills, 2022 felt like an appropriate time to share my passion. I am a home-baker at heart with experience in the food and beverage departments in Las Vegas casinos. Additionally, cafes seemed to be the spot for me after awhile so I owned up to the atmosphere after working at a famous coffee chain for 5 years. Those experiences helped to develop my customer and food service skills. I learned how to operate a business similar to a bakery! With the addition of several college classes, researching and reading overtime, my confidence for owning my own business grew tremendously as well as my knowledge. I have had a journey! Today, I am working on my bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition-Entrepreneurship at Arizona State University, and truly the learning never stops. I am incredibly grateful to pursue my passion and to honor my always independent-way-of-living! An ideal person to be running a small business!

Here are some fun facts about me:

  • I was born and partially raised in Los Angeles, California! The Inland Empire is responsible for the second half of my upbringing!
  • I think cookies are superior to most desserts but I will eat all of the sweets!
  • I love making charcuterie boards!
  • I was born the week of Christmas, and yes, I love Christmas!
  • Hey! I can also throw down in the kitchen with savory dishes too! I love feeding people!
  • I call myself a music historian. Music has gotten me through many things! We all need a theme song for our lives! And, a soundtrack for food gatherings!
  • The women in my family are my backbone; biggest supporters and my food taste testers!
  • Photography is another passion of mine that I consider a hobby. Shoutout to the site's pictures!
  • I live and breathe Black food history, and feel like Black Foodways are fun and important topics to study. I live and breathe Black culture!
